The meeting dealt with proposals to support the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the renewal of the educational cooperation protocol signed between the two countries in 2002, and the coordination for the program of mutual visits between the Yemeni and French universities, as well as the possibility of benefiting from the potentials of scientific research in France and encouraging the study of French language in the higher education institutions in Yemen.

At the meeting, Sharaf highly valued the French support to Yemen in the developmental and political areas, referring to France's efforts to support Yemen , especially during the events witnessed by Yemen in 2011, and its contribution to the implementation of the GCC-brokered initiative and the success of the national dialogue conference.

For his part, the French ambassador voiced his country's keenness to continue to support the Yemeni political leadership and government to complete the political settlement and its desire to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in the scientific and research areas.
