Yemen to launch campaign to get rid of schistosomiasis

launched next Sunday in 17 districts of the provinces of Taiz,
Hadhramout, Dhamar, Amran and Hajjah.
Speaking to Saba on Friday, Public Health and Population Minister Abdul-Karim Rassa said that the campaign would last five days, targeting 405800 persons aged 6-18 years.
"The campaign will include students in school and others as a part of Yemen's efforts to eradicate schistosomiasis", said the Minister.
He reported that the campaign would be carried out in 981 schools of the 17 districts, urging all educators in schools and health workers to ensure that all students to get the required dose against schistosomiasis.
Rassa mentioned that the number of females targeted in the campaign would reach about 210000 against 195000 males.
