Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament has called on the United Nations and
the Inter-Parliamentary Union on the abuses by Yemen's Houthi militias
against Yemeni civilians including MPs.
In a letter addressed to the UN peace mediator in Yemen Martin Griffiths and to the IPU, Sultan al-Barakani said the militia are committing terrorist abuses in the country as the United Nations organization stands by silently. He cited the militia's recent storming of a house belonging to an MP in Sana'a, the eviction of the resident family by force and occupation of a house.
He also cited the militia's rounding up of thousands of oppositionists in its horrible Sana'a jails and killing many prisoners under torture.
