The Yemeni government said in a statement, "While welcoming the content of the Saudi statement, the Yemeni government renews it commitment to implementing the Riyadh Agreement with all its details and affirms that the deal is a significant step to unify all forces that oppose the Iranian control of Yemen…"
The government called on the STC to "cease all forms of violations affecting the state institutions, its recent measures, making up crises, … mobilizing military forces and smearing the state, the political leadership and the army…"
Saudi Arabia's statement had called on the parties to the Riyadh Agreement, the STC and the government, to expedite the implementation of the deal and de-escalate tensions.
It said that the political and media escalation followed by the STC's "appointment decisions" breach what has been agreed upon by the two parties.
The Southern Transitional Council had appointed ambassadors to the UN, the EU and major world countries in violation of the agreement.
