WB allocates $20 mln for rural areas water projects

World Bank has allocated $20 million to continue the implementation of
the project
of water and sanitation for rural areas, the GPC-run
almotamar.net reported on Thursday.
The Executive Manger of Water and Sanitation Project Mohammed Abdul Razzak told the website that the amount would be used for carrying out 80 projects to be completed in 2009.
Abdul Razzak highlighted that the project has implemented 164 projects during 2002 – 2007 providing services for 427,000 citizens in governorates of Ibb, Abyan, Hajjah, Amran, Dalei and Lahj.
The projects cost $ 30 million around 75 percent of which was contributed by the World Bank, 20 percent from the government and 5 percent from beneficiaries.
