Upgrading level of the Palestinian diplomatic representation in Washington, DC

United States formally announced last night to raise the level of representation of the PLO office in Washington, in a move that reflects the U.S. administration's backing President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestinian Authority.
The White House spokesman Tommy Vietor in a statement reported by Radio / Sawa / said that "This decision reflects the confidence of Washington, the possibility of contributing through direct negotiations for a settlement resulting from the establishment of Palestinian and Israeli states living side by side".
