In a statement issued on Wednesday, the commission considered what happened in Socotra a cultural and ethical crime, as the Socotra Island is one of the most important natural archaeological reserves registered in the world heritage list.

The Commission called for the preservation of the Yemeni national heritage registered in the World Heritage List and that is under registration.

It is worth to mention that eight archaeological sites on the island have been recently exposed to digging up and looting their contents.
