Four French tourists had been kidnapped in south-eastern Yemen last September by armed tribesmen from the Al Abdullah tribe in Shabwa province. On the other hand, the Appeals Court will bring in a verdict in the lawsuit of Mohammad Hamdi al-Ahdal accused of planning attacks on foreign interests in Yemen and raising funds to implement such acts.
Primary Court sentenced al-Ahdal to three years in prison. Al-Ahdal was arrested as he was hiding at an apartment in the capital Sana'a by the security in December 2003.
