The Cabinet stressed that the decision will not affect basic commodities exempt from customs duties and will not impose additional burdens on citizens, clarifying that its application will be primarily limited to luxury and non-essential goods. The Cabinet directed ministries, relevant authorities, and local governments to intensify field monitoring campaigns to prevent any exploitation of the decision to impose unjustified price increases, emphasizing the need for uniform implementation procedures across all outlets and prohibiting any exceptions outside the legal framework.
The Cabinet tasked the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Chamber of Commerce and other relevant bodies, with conducting extensive monitoring campaigns to control prices, prevent monopolies and price gouging, and prepare and publish periodic price guides for essential commodities.
