According to recent statistics issued by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, the fixed phone subscribers, numbering 968 thousand and 328 subscriber in addition to 3 million and 198 thousand subscribers in mobile phone and the telephone density reaches to 20% as the number of subscribers in the Internet services to more than 156 thousand as well as proliferation of 836 Internet café and 12 thousand and 348 Telecommunications centers throughout the cities and governorates of Yemen.
 
 
The Ministry of Telecommunications adopts many of the ambitious projects such as draft strategy of president Saleh to generalize the computer, which was distributed more than 20 thousand computers in addition to the electronic government project.
 
 The Minister of Telecommunications and information technology has been stressed a new mechanism for activation of President Saleh's project to generalize computer and dissemination of electronic culture among the citizens and enable them to benefit from modern techniques.
