"With deep concern, we are following the development of the situation in Yemen, where two major terrorist attacks took place on October 9," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement late on Friday.

"We are confident that the only way out of the profound political crisis in Yemen lies through attempts to find solutions acceptable for all participants in the political process in the interests of national accord and sustainable development of the country, focusing efforts of the state on acute socioeconomic problems and counteracting all kinds of militants," the ministry stressed.

It said that Russia, along with other participants in international efforts to settle the situation in Yemen, will continue to help Yemen "through real steps aimed at solving pressing problems" facing the country.
