The meeting touched upon the latest developments on the ground and the current Houthi escalation in and around the capital Sana'a which represents a threat to security, stability and public tranquility in the city and coincides with current efforts to bring in a solution for the current crisis. Hadi indicated that the current efforts are being exerted to save the country from being dragged into a war. The President also briefed the meeting on the nature of the situation and ongoing negotiations led by the UN envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar with Ansarallah leader, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, which aim to settle the crisis peacefully. Hadi urged everyone to shoulder responsibility through maintaining security and stability.
