Parliament conducted on Saturday general debates on a draft amendment of constitutional articles and provisions, submitted by legislators.

In its session chaired by Speaker of the Parliament Yayha al-Rae'i, the parliament referred the request and the articles to be amended and the reasons and justifications for this amendment to a special committee.The lawmakers' request contains amending some articles to develop the legislative authority through adoption of a bicameral system, establishment of a second chamber in the legislature, and allocation of parliamentary seats for women.The amendment request also seeks to a broad powers system of local ruling as well as modification of a limited number of other articles which represent a constitutional reform and enhance the democratic experience in the country.
