A recent study has revealed that one of the main reasons for
neck and head cancer in Yemen is addiction to smoking, chewing qat and having Shama (tobacco flour). The study says that between 90-95% of the patients are with mouth cancer and 25-50% with tongue cancer.These patients have Shama, chew qat, and smoke almost daily.
