KFAED lends Yemen $54 mln to finance rural areas' roads

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) on Tuesday lent Yemen $ 54 million to contribute to finance the fourth stage of the rural areas' roads project.
The loan agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mutahar al-Abbasi and KFAED's Assistant Legal Advisor Mohammad al-Omani.
The project includes establishing 13 asphalt roads in 9 governorates and rehabilitating 16 others in a number of governorates.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Public Works and Roads Omar al-Kurshumi, who lauded the great role the KFAED plays in financing the infrastructure and service projects in the country.
For his part, al-Omani accented the KFAED's readiness to continue to present all available support to improve the service and infrastructure fields in Yemen.
