The Committee was established based on the 2140 resolution adopted on 26 February, under which the Security Council set up a sanctions regime that includes an asset freeze and travel ban against peace spoilers and human rights abusers to be designated by the Committee.

At the meeting, they reviewed a number of security cases that are still under investigation and have a connection to the political settlement and the implementation of the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC).

Al-Tarib underlined that the Ministry deals in profession and transparency manner with the cases in accordance with the legal procedures apart from any influences or partisan interferences.

He expressed readiness to provide all facilities to succeed the UN Panel's tasks.
