The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) gave
Yemen $4 million as an additional grant for the National Malaria Control
Programme (NMCP).
Health Minister Ahmed al-Ansi said that the grant aimed to bridge the
financing gap for malaria control activities in Yemen for 2013 - 2014.
The GFATM Board of Directors' approval came as a result of the success Yemen has achieved in the control of malaria, reduction of infection rates and eradication of malaria from some areas such as Wadi Hadramout, al-Ansi said.
