Four terrorists were killed on Thursday while trying to attack Sayoun airport in the eastern governorate of Hadrmout, the army's spokesman said.

A terrorist group attacked Sayoun airport and tried to capture the air control tower, Col. Saeed al-Faqih, adding that the Airport's security thwarted the attempt and killed four terrorists.

The situation in the airport is under control now, al-Faqih said, adding that an officer and a solider were killed in the attack.

Earlier, the terrorist group attacked and burned a Date Plant in Sayoun city, resulting in some casualties of the Plant's workers, al-Faqih said.

The armed and security forces began hunting the terrorists and launched an investigation in the attack, al-Faqih said.
