Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi left on Saturday for Egypt to participate in a preparatory meeting for the 2nd Summit of Economic and Social Development which will take place on 16-19 January.

The meetings also will review Arab development issues, including an Arab electricity link project, a gas line, a fund to support medium and small industries and the maritime transport sector.
The Arab participants will discuss an initiative of the World Bank to support infrastructure and investment projects in the Arab region.The Arab summit held in the Saudi capital Riyadh in 2007 approved an Arab summit devoted to economic, social and development Affairs.The 1st summit was held in Kuwait in 2009 and came out several decisions on development and economic joint issues of the Arab countries.
