Al-Qaeda cell trial to begin soon

The Specialized Criminal Prosecution in the capital Sana’a will continue to investigate a terrorist cell of ten suspects affiliated with al-Qaeda, a judicial source said on Tuesday.
"After the investigations are completed, the suspects will be referred to the Specialized Criminal Court for prosecution", the source said in a statement to the state-run 26sep.net.
The source noted that the suspects had committed a number of terrorist acts. They had targeted the Canadian Nexen Petroleum Company by causing an explosion near the company's fence in Sana’a and planed to blow up a number of vital installations and foreign interests.In addition, the cell had planned to target a number of security personnel. The source added that the members of the cell were arrested in 2010 in Sana’a and their terrorist plots against Yemeni and foreign interests were thwarted.
