AFESD grants Yemen $150 mln for 2nd Marib power station

Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) has granted Yemen $150 million to assist in financing the 2nd Marib gas-based power station, whose estimated cost reaches $400 million.
The sum was granted under an agreement signed Wednesday by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi and AFESD legal advisor Hasab Allah al-Ubaid.Al-Arhabi has hailed the AFESD contributions in funding development and service projects in Yemen.AFESD has granted $100 million for the same project, thus the Fund's contribution reached $250 million, al-Arhabi said, adding that the government has ensured the rest of station's costs.
