AFESD commits $500 m in aid to Yemen in next five years

The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development AFESD has recently committed to providing $500 million in aid for development projects in Yemen.
The sum will be released during 2011-2015, it said on its website. The allocation announced during the meeting of donors in Brussels in November comes within the commitment to providing loans and donations amounting to $ billion to Yemen during the next five years, it added.
During 1974-2009, the fund provided KWD 639.7 million for financing 89 projects in various sectors in Yemen.
