Twenty-nine prisoners, including 19 linked to terrorism managed to
escape the central prison in Sanaa during last night's attack on the
facility, an Interior Ministry source said.
The source said seven guards and policemen were killed and four others injured in the attack.
He said one group of the attackers detonated a car bomb as others were opening fire and firing RPG shells at the facility to cover the prison break operation.
The source said the car bomb explosion caused a hole in the prisons wall through which the 29 prisoners fled amid the chaos as guards clashed with the attackers.
