About 124 various investment projects have been licensed to be carried out in Aden

Free Zone (AFZ) during the period from January 2000 to December 2008.
Vice chairman of the General Authority of Free Zones, Head of AFZ Abdul-Jalil al-Shuaibi said that the total cost of those projects amounted $885,989,221 distributed as 44 projects in the industrial sector, 12 projects in storage, 20 general trading projects, 36 general services projects, 11 housing projects and one project in the tourism sector .
The projects would make about 6,129 work opportunities available for the Yemeni employees, al-Shuaibi made clear.
